An American Devi who loves Hinduism

An American Devi who loves Hinduism and became memebr of it and in India is serving Dharma name Kali Prem Dasi
As I am becoming more familiar to people in my neighborhood, I am able to talk with them more. I am feeling very discouraged. They really just don't care. All they want is to talk to me about leaving India, or to brag to me about how their children live abroad or go to xristian schools.

I am very tempted to put up photos of my family ( I won't, my family will remain Private ) to hit home the sacrifices I have made to be here. It just really pisses me off that I , who was not born here, am willing to Sacrifice but they only want to run. Today , I am feeling so grateful for my FB friends. To know their really are others who feel as I do, and are willing to work to bring Hinduism and India back to their Golden State. India and Hinduism are One. They can never be separated.

The fate of one is the fate of the other. On this Sacred Land , where Our Lord Krishna Himself walked, on this his Birth day, Let us remember who we are. How much this Land and our Faith mean to us. It defines who we are. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with you, Proudly, to face down, any religion, organization, ect. who threatens our Faith, Land , Culture, and Traditions. We know who our Enemies are. We are not backing down. I will stand Tall next to you, Come What May.

That is My Pledge and My Promise to You. When I said I was yours, I meant it. We are One People. We are an Old People, and we are Stronger than ever Before. Jai Ma~

Russell Brand and Perry married in India

Russell Brand and Katy Perry have married in a traditional Hindu ceremony
Chart beauty Katy Perry has tamed the one-time lothario Russell Brand as they married in an Indian ceremony.

A Hindu priest conducted the wedding, the first stage of days of celebrations with friends who are thought to include Jonathan Ross.

Both Brand and Perry wore traditional Indian clothes, with the bride dressed in a sari.

The couple, who met at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009, where Brand,35, was host, tried to keep their celebration under wraps.

They flew in earlier this week with Perry, 25, covering her head and face as she and her fiance touched down in Mumbai.

The ceremony took place at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort outside the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary, 80 miles from the "pink city" of Jaipur.

A hotel official told the Associated Press that the venue's trees were illuminated by colourful lights and luxury tents were decorated with flower garlands.

One of the tour operators let slip this week that it would be a six-day celebration beginning with a Hindu ceremony. About 80 guests are expected to be taken on tours of the tiger sanctuary in the days after the wedding.

News agency Press Trust of India reported that 21 camels, elephants and horses formed part of Brand's wedding procession from a nearby resort. He was also accompanied by traditional dancers and musicians.

Perry has already appealed for privacy on Twitter while the couple took a break from the limelight to get married.

Journey of an American Girl Towards Sanatan Dharma - Carolyn Ruth Moir ( Ambaa )

My name is Ambaa,

My name is Ambaa, born Carolyn, and I've identified as a Hindu for about ten years now. My background is somewhat unusual, I guess, in that despite being of European ancestry, I had Indian philosophy, transcendental meditation, and Sanskrit chanting and calligraphy as part of my life growing up in America. I didn't realize any of that was Indian until I was older. It was just what we did. My parents discovered Advaita philosophy in the 70s before I was born. They didn't see it as necessarily Hindu (but as simply Universal Truth), but once I was in my twenties I was trying to understand my beliefs and find a spiritual community when I had the realization that I was already Hindu and I always had been. I began to expand my practices and became familiar with Indian Hindu culture. It immediately felt like home to me. I was so comfortable with it!

Advaita Hinduism makes sense to me in a way that nothing else does. I can't imagine not believing exactly as I do! From reincarnation to the divine within, it just seems to me like it could not be any other way. I think Hinduism is a wonderful path, a very clear and direct path to Truth, but I try to respect that it is not right for everyone (perhaps they are just not ready for it yet!) I'm so grateful to have Hinduism and I dedicate a lot of my life to exploring its philosophical concepts and working to purify my soul and aim for samadhi.

ॐ 16 YEAR OLD AMERICAN GIRL CONVERTED TO HINDUISM ॐ

Raised Catholic, and considering herself spiritual for many years, Danielle decided to convert to Hinduism at age 16. The name Gauri Maheshwari was given to Danielle by one of the priests at the temple upon her decision to be a Hindu. At the time of this interview she is 18 years old.

Hinduism is a way of life for Danielle. In fact, it is the very essence of life and gives her purpose in all she does. It makes her a kinder, gentler person because she realizes that God is in everyone and so she must treat people the way she would treat God. Danielle worships in her puja room at home and at the Hindu Temple in St. Louis
